Lentil Soup Great for Cold Days!
A bag of red lentils or 3 cups
6 cups of water
3 table spoons of salt
1 table spoon of black pepper
1 Serrano pepper
1/4 cup oil
Baked bread any kind can be used
And sliced lemons to drizzle
1-Clean the lentils a couple times and drain the water.
Add to a large pot with water, salt and pepper. Let boil and put on low. Stir occasionally throughout the process because this soup might stick on the bottom.
On the side grate the carrots really thin and add them to the boiling pot.
2-Chop the onions and Serrano pepper into small pieces. In a separate pan add the oil and sauté the chopped onions and pepper.
3-When they become dodo led and light in color add them to the boiling pot. Keep stirring every couple minutes and leave on low for 3 hours.
4-Serve when it seems a bit thick with a drizzle of lemon and some bread.
